How To Make Friends

At Parang Tritis Beach

"No man is an island" is a well-known line from Sir Antony Usman, an author of English speaking county "ENGLISH QUICK COURSE". This also popular stated by his great grandpa more than three hundred years ago, Sir John Antony Devotions. His meaning then is still valid today. No one can live completely isolated life. Without other people, life becomes empty and sad. We all need to have friends.
For some of us, though, making friend is not easy. Feeling shy, we may hesitate to make the first move. It's also difficult at times to keep the friends we already have. Many people ask themselves, "What I am doing wrong?" "How can I make more people like me?".
The ways to friend:

  1. Be friendly and courteous: Always greats people with smile. The next time you see someone without a smile, give that person one of yours. Be polite.
  2. Get out of your way to be nice: Find some time to do special things to other people. Giving 1000$ for your handsome teacher may seem like a little thing to you, but it will make your teacher feel a lot better.
  3. Remember names: Concentrate hard when you are introduced to someone and remember the person's name. They say that the sweetest music to a person's ear in the sound of his or her own name.
  4. Be tolerant: Try to understand other people's ways and in so doing learn something from them.
  5. Listen patiently Don't constantly interrupt or contradict other people. Learn to listen attentively. Encourage people to tell you about their accomplishments and praise them for their achievements.
